Tina Brooks complete quintet studio albums as leader: Minor Move, True Blue, Back To The Tracks, The Waiting Game.
Talented but ill-fated tenor saxophonist Tina Brooks' recording career didn't really start until 1958, when he participated on Jimmy Smith's iconic LP The Sermon. Due to personal problems, he stopped recording in early 1961 and would not be heard from again prior to his death in 1974, at the age of forty-two.
This release presents all the quintet studio albums Brooks made under his own name for Blue Note and features, among others, such stars as Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Kenny Drew, Duke Jordan, Paul Chambers, Art Blakey, and Philly Joe Jones, among others.
