Description
Limited Edition 6-panel Digipak with Booklet + Bonus Tracks.
This release presents some of the best recordings made by the piano-less quartet fronted by Gerry Mulligan and Art Farmer. Included here is the complete original LP What Is There to Say? (Columbia CS8116), along with another studio set, taped for radio broadcasting just months after completing that album. On both sets Mulligan and Farmer are backed by Bill Crown on bass and Dave Bailey on drums. Two tunes from the soundtrack of the film The Subterraneans, featuring both leaders with an all-star group, round out this CD.
Gerry Mulligan - baritone sax; Art Farmer - trumpet; Bill Crow - bass; Dave Bailey - drums. Columbia session New York 1958
