  • Description

Violinst Alexander Balanescu and singer Ada Milea both hail from Romania and are well known musicians in their own right and we are very pleased to present their new project. They transformed a surrealistic play by a Romanian author, based on the Robinson Crusoe story, into a surrealistic mini opera. The world famous Balanescu Quartet is the musical partner in this bizarre story.
Is it classical music, jazz, world music or is it 'plain' avant garde? That is for the listener to judge. But if you indulge yourself in the story sung both by Alexander Balanescu (!) and Ada Milea, you will find yourself in an absurd world of pirates, grand parents and other colourful characters. Fact is this certainly isn't your everyday new release.

The Balanescu Quartet and Alexander Balanescu are known worldwide for their co-operations with many artists, like David Byrne, Pet Shop Bos, Kate Bush and many others. Also their albums, including a cd with Kraftwerk covers for string quartet, received much appraisal.
Ada Milea is a singer who experiments with the links between theater and music. She has released several albums in her home country.
