  • Description

With Modernism, Austrian alternative band Zeronic release their first new album in 14 years. Since the late 1990s, the band have released four albums, received Amadeus Award nominations anD arned extensive radio airplay. Numerous club and festival tours have taken zeronic across Austria and Germany, alongside shows with acts as diverse as New Order, Queens of the Stone Age and The Kills, as well as several concerts at renowned London clubs. The ten tracks on Modernism consist entirely of new material, combining the immediate energy of the band's early releases with the broader sonic spectrum of their later work - ranging from direct, guitar-driven songs to more expansive arrangements. Modernism was created within a year through an intuitive songwriting process that, in its openness, echoes the approach of the band's early albums. Lyrically, Modernism revolves around the contradictions of modern life: progress and disillusionment, closeness and isolation, belonging and the desire to break free. At its core is the question of how to remain human in a world increasingly shaped by efficiency, systems and constant optimization. Modernism is not a rejection of progress, but an exploration of its ambiguities - and of the human search for closeness and connection in an increasingly complex world. Tracklisting>> 1.The hope and the Enemy 2.A String of Luck 3.For Myself 4.The Aftermath (longing for her skin) 5.A New Day's Celebration 6.Heads Down 7.Deadly Serious 8.Your Truth or Mine 9.Old Ways 10.Good Night
