Description
The Secret Goldfish share their debut album on vinyl for the first time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release. Three decades on, the band release the album as first intended with the original title and tracklisting. The album was released in 1996 on CD titled 'Aqua Pet... You Make Me'. Finally in March 2027, it is available on Blue Sky vinyl pressed locally at Seabass Vinyl in Scotland.
Venus Bonding: Erotic Mars has been remastered for vinyl by Samuel Joseph Smith at Green Door studio in Glasgow and features the original intended tracklisting (containing 6 tracks that did not feature on the 1996 CD). The tracks on the LP were produced by former Article 58 members Stephen Lironi and Douglas MacIntyre.
The new artwork include stills from the group's live debut performance at Creeping Bent's label launch event, A Leap Into The Void (BENT 001), in the Tramway theatre in Glasgow on 12th Dec 1994. Seasick was released as the groups' debut single on the Creeping Bent label in April 1995. It is now released as a remastered digital single with new artwork to coincide with the announcement of the album.
The Secret Goldfish was formed by stalwarts of the Edinburgh C86 scene, with Katy Lironi (Fizzbombs) on vocals and Paul Turnbull (Mackenzies) on drums, joined by Douglas MacIntyre on guitar and Graham Lironi on bass. The Secret Goldfish recorded two sessions for John Peel, broadcast on his BBC Radio 1 show. Peel was a big fan and invited the group to perform at the Meltdown Festival he curated at London's Royal Festival Hall in 1998 (which also featured performances by Creeping Bent labelmates Adventures in Stereo, Vic Godard, The Leopards, The Nectarine No.9 and Jock Scot).
