Description
After the CD Mr. Handel in the Pub (ARC21025), the ensemble I Zefirelli moves one pub further, so to speak, with the album Telemann in der Taverne and moves along the then thin line between serious music and light music through the Hamburg scene around 1720, once again juxtaposing baroque and folk. The program is rounded off with Telemann's own, more serious works, including a trio sonata printed in Hamburg and a secular cantata about unfulfilled love for bass and continuo. As is the case with visits to pubs: you're left wanting more...
