Description
This is the third solo album by Wales’ foremost exponent of the Celtic Harp. Delyth Jenkins’ recording career started in the late '70s with 'Cromlech', continued with the highly acclaimed 'Aberjaber' and has reached full bloom on this, her first Steam Pie release. AROS – meaning to stay or wait – contains a number of beautiful self-compositions, including one specially composed for a recent theatre show, “George Borrow, plus Delyth’s exquisite arrangements of some well known traditional Welsh tunes such as “Ar Hyd Y Nos. Throughout the album, Delyth is accompanied by long time musical partner Peter Stacey, and, showing that musicality is in the genes, by her daughters Angharad on fiddle and Branwen on flute. At the centre remains Delyth’s own exquisite, dexterous harp playing.
Tracks: Hir Pob Aros; O’r diwedd / Llwytgoed; Owen’s Jig; Bedd Y Morwr / A Veritable Feast; Digestif / Rachel Dafydd Ifan; Mynydd Yr Heliwr / Loftus Jones / Mil Harddach Wyt / Alawon George Borrow / Hela’r Sgwarnog; Dafydd Ifan Tomos / Hen Ferchetan / Ar Hyd Y Nos / Llawenydd / Arglwydd, Dyma Fi / Aros.
