Emerging indie artist Lisa Wanloo has been going through a period of contemplation and clarity in recent years. She fearlessly explores her feelings and expresses them in no-frills music in a way that will leave few listeners unmoved. Wanloo creates a grand, dark scenery in her songs, paired with something fragile that pokes at the inside in a beautiful way. Influenced by the darker varieties of the Americana and singer-songwriter traditions, as well as her lifelong love of grunge music, Wanloo writes her music from the bottom of her heart. It's reminiscent of the great Angel Olsen and Sharon Van Etten in both approach and delivery. Lisa Wanloo from H?n? in the Gothenburg archipelago started making music late in life. Her three-track single released in 2018 showcased her first songs ever written; at the time in a more traditional singer-songwriter form. She then embarked on a quest for her individual expression and now she is ready to release her debut album "Shadows". The Reeperbahn Festival, where Lisa Wanloo was a guest in 2021, writes of an "improbable expressiveness" of the singer. Even if the basic tenor is always characterized by a sensual darkness, her music can provide hope in bleak moments of life, she says. Wanloo is a "young artist of inestimable value for the present.
