Description
"Duo" is a term that brings to mind two voices singing together, but in the case of Peter Cooper's second release, "The Lloyd Green Album," the duo is of Cooper's voice and one very special instrument, the pedal steel guitar of Lloyd Green.
Green, a member of the Pedal Steel Hall of Fame and a future Country Music Hall of Famer, can be heard playing on more than a hundred #1 country hits, and literally thousands more. But this is not a country record.
It's a combination of Cooper's beautifully crafted songs (in the vein of John Prine and Kris Kristofferson) with well-chosen covers that he sings and fingerpicks.
When Green adds his frankly gorgeous and lush pedal steel to the proceedings -- in empathetic harmony lines and counter-melodies, and spectacular solos -- the results can only be called "duos."
This record is unlike anything you've ever heard, in the best possible way.
