Acclaimed singer-songwriters, Eric Brace (of Last Train Home) and Peter Cooper came up with a smart idea for their second duo album, "Master Sessions" : Team up with two instrumental greats, Lloyd Green playing pedal steel, and Mike Auldridge on Dobro, and give them room to shine. Curiously, this is the first full-length recording to ever feature the pedal steel and the Dobro playing off of each other on every song. The mutual respect and admiration Green and Auldridge have for each other is apparent on every track.
Songs are a combination of deft and beautiful originals by Brace and Cooper, and well-chosen covers (Herb Pedersen's classic "Wait a Minute" opens the collection, which includes songs by Tom T. Hall and John Hartford). Also appearing on this fine recording are: Richard Bennett (of Mark Knopfler's band) on guitar, Jen Gunderman (of Sheryl Crow's band) on keyboards and accordian, Pat McInerney, on drums, Dave Roe on bass. With harmony vocals by Kenny Chesney (yep, that one), Jon Randall, and Julie Lee.
