An intimate and inspiring collection of original songs from critically acclaimed Edinburgh based songwriter and pianist, Kim Edgar. The album tackles topics including gendered thinking, child soldiers, the impact of crime and punishment, loss, and love in its many forms, and features collaborations with award-winning songwriter Karine Polwart, poet Rachel Fox and Gudrun Walther & Juergen Treyz, Kim's bandmates in the Germany based trad folk band, CARA.
Recorded at Artes TonStudio, Esslingen (Germany) & at Caribou Recording (Scotland), Kim's songs are enhanced by Kevin McGuire (bass), Mattie Foulds (drums), Su-a Lee (cello), Gudrun Walther (violin, viola), Fergus Kerr (french horn), Michael Owers (trombone, bass trombone & sousaphone) and Inge Thomson (backing vocals). -
