Description
Fred McDowell was one of the most unique artists in the history of recorded blues. He was known for his distinctive and riviting slide playing, one chord grooves and souful singing. McDowell's influence is felt in contemporary artists from The Rolling Stones to Bonnie Raitt to John Hammond. These recordings were produced by blues pioneer, Pete Welding between 1963 and 1966 and highlight the legacy of one of the most important and influential Post War country bluesmen.
