Description
Produced by Dave Alvin and Greg Leisz, this was Tom Russell's first HighTone album. Russell has written songs for such well-known country artists as Suzy Bogguss, Jerry Jeff Walker, Nanci Griffith, Johnny Cash and Joe Ely.
The songs on this record centre around a California theme, and they mix Russell's picturesque folk sagas with songwriting contributions from Peter Case, Chris Gaffney and Dave Alvin. The Woody Guthrie-esque "Somebody's Husband, Somebody's Son" features a vocal verse-swapping trio of Russell, Alvin and Case. -
