Since signing with HighTone Records in 1998, the Hot Club Of Cowtown has grown from a group of virtuoso players to a group of virtuoso singer/songwriters that still play the hell out of their instruments.
Melding gypsy jazz with Western swing, the Hot Club Of Cowtown delivers one of the most heart-racing, jaw-dropping performances out there… and they're a trio! Whether they're playing a fresh arrangement of an old standard like "Orange Blossom Special" or flying through an original written by Whit or Elana, the Hot Club Of Cowtown is sure to please any crowd.
While their last release Ghost Train (HCD8147) focused more on the band's songwriting abilities, Continental Stomp is mainly a live treat for the fans, from a show at the Continental Club in Austin, Texas.
Featuring 14 tracks (hidden track, "Pussy, Pussy, Pussy"), the album delivers 13 favourite hot jazz and Western swing standards plus a bonus studio track, "I Can't Believe You're In Love With Me", that the band recorded just for this release. -
