  • Description

MARIANNE SEGAL was the singer in Jade who were rightly regarded as one of THE cult progressive folk-rock bands of the early 70s; hugely collectible, their sole album 'Fly On Strangewings' was a pinnacle of the era released on DJM in the 90s.

Now, backed by a cast of musicians that includes members of the legendary UK freak folk band Circulus, Root Cartwright - leader of '70s psychedelic progressive folk legends Principal Edwards Magic Theatre - and Bill Steer of Firebird/Napalm Death (check out the track 'Root People'!), Marianne presents a beautiful album of new songs.

Absorbing the classic elements of 1970s British folk rock within a more contemporary sound the album is a worthy follow up to Jade's 1970 album. Whilst an early version of 'The Gathering' was self-released by Marianne nearly 20 years ago on CD, this new edition has been remastered and remixed with additional music and brand new artwork for release by Talking Elephant Records & a vinyl version by Fruits de Mer.
