  • Description

The best word to describe Wolvennest's music: occult. Each live show is a transcending experience for their audience as well as their members. Far from the modern world, Wolvennest developed a following the ancient way, with strong trippy albums and solid live experiences evoking chaos, light and darkness. While the collective already performed at mythic festivals (Desertfest, Roadburn, Hellfest) and the very best of the occult locations (House of the Holy, Chaos Descend, Ascension), its appetite for trippy performances is stronger than ever. The 6 musicians now return from the shadows with a new EP: In the Ruins. Born during the Procession sessions, these three songs were left aside. Their length and nature kept them apart from the rest of the ceremony. Something darker was growing within them, something that needed its own altar. Those who followed 'Procession' will recognize the strange blend of psych/doom with a touch of the darkness found in black metal: massive guitars, synths/mellotrons, hypnotic riffs, all wrapped in Shazzula's haunting vocals and theremin. But on 'In the Ruins', the atmosphere sinks even deeper. Songs like 'The Weakness' drag the listener further down, into the ashes left behind once the procession has passed. 'Procession' opened the portals. 'In the Ruins' showswhat remains on the other side.
