Description
The album will feature 8 tracks from French film soundtracks, revisited, destructured, mishandled or revered by a handful of thrilling artists. The album comes on fizzy yellow vinyl in a numbered limited-edition. Gatefold sleeve, with two insane illustrations by JessX and Nicolas Begue..
Following on from the "Le Cinema francais c'est de la merde!" book series ( "French Cinema is shit !") and its 5th volume recently released by Distorsion, what could be better than an album, this time to showcase the soundtracks of a sometimes (unjustly) forgotten French cinema? This is the project of Rurik Salle, founder of the Distorsion collective and its label Distornoiz, with whom Deviation Records has teamed up for this mad collaboration. Meeting Rurik Salle 3 years ago during the production of Jean-Pierre Kalfon's album "Mefistofelange" (released by Deviation Records), on which he accompanies on guitar and composes, brought the label into the loop of his new project: an album of legendary film covers, with a selection of talented musicians, just like his book series! The program features Deviation artists such as Laurent Ciron, on a track with Bertrand Burgalat and Barbara Carlotti, as well as (because who better than?) Jean-Pierre Kalfon, with fellow musician Rurik featuring Manard from Ultra Vomit. And of course our Dude, straight from Annecy, the great Didier Super, the fascinating Musique post-bourgeoise, the duo Eroina or the cinematic Fugu Dal Bronx... In short, a fine, crazy team, ready to revive the strangest of French cinema. The distorted deviation is on!
