Description
PALE, disbanded in 2009 and last on stage for a farewell revue in 2012, will release their last album at the end of 2022. "The Night, The Dawn And What Remains" was literally written by life. In November 2019, guitarist and singer Christian Dang-Anh is diagnosed with a brain tumour. On the same day, drummer Stephan Kochs, brother of singer Holger Kochs, also receives a diagnosis that forces him to turn his entire life upside down. Despite all the bewilderment and worry at this time, the idea is born to make music together once again. Not so that anyone will ever hear them, but to revive the time when they were so alive and endless together. Only Stephan Kochs has to refrain from active participation early on for health reasons. Despite the intensive cancer therapies, Christian writes, plays and sings on new songs that emerge together with unprecedented ease. The finiteness becomes painfully aware when Christian loses his battle against the disease in May 2021. PALE decide to finish the recordings they had still started together. All in all, more than two years of work and love went into the songs. Now the fifth official, and definitely last, album of PALE is released. "The Night, The Dawn And What Remains" is a celebration of life and what was.
