From the wonder of Jurassic Park and E.T. to the mysterious world of Harry Potter, via the adventures of Indiana Jones, the suspense of Jaws, and the deeply moving Schindler's List, the album reveals the full range of John Williams' orchestral language. The program concludes in the world of Star Wars with "Across the Stars," "Princess Leia's Theme," and the spectacular "Throne Room & Finale." Through these ten works, the FILMharmonique Orchestra highlights what makes Williams so unique: instantly recognizable melodies, richly layered orchestration, and an exceptional ability to convey emotion, suspense, heroism, and wonder through music. Violinist Guillaume Villeneuve stands out in particular as the soloist in the poignant theme from Schindler's List. As Canada's first orchestra dedicated to film concerts, the FILMharmonique Orchestra continues its mission to bridge the gap between the symphonic repertoire and a broad audience. Since its founding in 2015, the ensemble has distinguished itself in film concerts dedicated to Harry Potter, Star Wars, Titanic, Gladiator, and The Lord of the Rings.
