Description
If one had to name just one work that captures the identity of the Apaches of the early 20th century, it would be this one. Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale encapsulates all the concerns of Parisian artists during the Belle Epoque: artistic cross- pollination, inspiration drawn from music from elsewhere, experimentation with form and genre... The mimodrama is accompanied by a commission from the Apaches to Othman Louati, who has composed an original work for percussionand electronics. Between rhythmic pulsations and invisible soundscapes, this piece sketches the outlines of a tale in which the Devil is already lurking in the shadows. Recorded live at the Theatre des Quatre Saisons by b.records, this album brings to life the full intensity of this encounter between works and eras.
