Description
Long recognized as a musician's musician and a master of traditional American roots styles, Michael Jerome Browne takes the road less traveled on an unforgettable journey into the heart of acoustic blues. Eight originals and six seminal covers recorded live off the floor and with no overdubs.
Born in Indiana, Michael is the son of English professors whose love of music and poetry inspired them to take their nine year old to jazz, blues and folk clubs in their adopted home of Montreal. By age fourteen, MJB was a regular on the folk and blues scene adding banjo, fiddle, and mandolin to his masterful command of all variety of guitars and harmonica. Michael honed his vocal and electric guitar skills as long time lead singer of The Stephen Barry Band, and over the years backed up legendary artists such as Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame inductee Vann "Piano Man" Walls.
