'Can't Keep A Good Man Down' brings together various Michael Jerome Browne tracks from: Drive On (2001), Michael Jerome Browne & The Twin Rivers String Band (2004), Double (2007), This Beautiful Mess (2008) and The Road Is Dark (2011).
A new song, "Four Years, No Rain" previously unreleased, is featured. Songs by Tampa Red, Jesse Fuller, Reverend Gary Davis and Tommy Johnson, and four original Michael Jerome Browne songs in the style, as well as a couple of gourd banjo tunes, share the spotlight on 'Can't Keep A Good Man Down'.
The compilation is mostly solo, with a little help from friends John McColgan, Jordan Officer, Michael Ball, Jody Benjamin, Steve Marriner, Stephen Barry, and the late, Vann "Piano Man" Walls.
