Description
English singer Matt Monro (1930-1985), known as "The Man with the Golden Voice", became one of the most popular entertainers on the international music scene during the 1960s and 1970s.
This 2-CD set compiles all of his recordings from the years 1960-62, including his complete albums "Love Is the Same Anywhere" (Parlophone PCS 3020), "My Kind of Girl" (Warwick - W 2045) - which had many tunes in common with the former LP , and "Matt Monro Sings Hoagy Carmichael" (Parlophone PCS 3034), plus all of his singles from the period.
Monro's 1957 LP "Blue and Sentimental" has been added in its entirety as a bonus, along with two standards issued on a 1958 single, and his vocals for Charlie Chaplin's song "Bound for Texas", recorded in 1959 for the soundtrack of a sound version of the comedian's 1923 film The Pilgrim.
