'Diving the Unknown' is the debut album from Somerset-based Izzie Yardley. Produced by Brit Award winning Ethan Johns, A free flowing braided river of classical, folk and jazz, the record doesn't stay in one lane. 'Joan' features collaborations with Mercury-nominated trumpeter Laura Jurd and violinist Henry Rankin, while 'The Garden' has been celebrated by BBC Radio 1. It was recorded live in the winter of 2024/2025, while Izzie was heavily pregnant. Surrounded by the rolling misty Somerset hills, the band (long-time collaborators and friends Nick Pini on bass, Luke Potashnick on electric and Ethan Johns on drums) set up in a circle, cranking their amps as loud as they dared, the tape machine hissing into action. What they captured is an honest, colourful cascade of songs that explore how we navigate life. 'Diving The Unknown' is a bold declaration of Yardley's artistry, showcasing her gift for finding magic in both the beauty and chaos of everyday life and establishing her unique voice in the contemporary folk scene
