Description
Following their critically acclaimed 2022 Topic Records release "Ink Of The Rosy Morning" folk duo Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage return with their 4th studio album.
Having spent the previous year touring & jamming with the legendary Fairport Convention, the pair were inspired by the spirit of collaboration to make their boldest album to-date. In the Dark We Grow sees Hannah & Ben explore the widest of sonic vistas through their unique blend of traditional Folk and Americana, whilst still holding on to the pin-drop intimacy that characterises their spellbinding live shows. Embracing the joys of live music shared, they're joined in the studio by 11 special guests including Jon Thorne (Lamb, James Yorkston), Findlay Napier, Jess Morgan, Jade Rhiannon (The Willows) and Liz Simmons (Low Lily).
The album contains traditional songs from both sides of the big pond, a handful of self-penned numbers, Richard Farina's Quiet Joys Of Brotherhood, and Castles and Old Kings by the late Johnny Dickinson - to whom the record is dedicated.
