Works by Schutz are placed alongside compositions by his pupils and successors Andreas Hammerschmidt, Christoph Bernhard, Franz Tunder, Nicolaus Bruhns and Samuel Capricornus, revealing the enduring influence of one of the most important figures in seventeenth-century German music. Founded for this recording project, Flam's Consort brings together musicians united by a passion for German Baroque repertoire. Combining historically informed performance with artistic vitality and expressive freedom, the ensemble highlights the spiritual depth, contrapuntal richness and dramatic power of this remarkable music. A journey through grief, faith and redemption, Schutz & Heirs - A Solus Bassus offers a vivid tribute to Schutz and the musical legacy he inspired.
