Description
An unusual, very beautiful project by two artists from Southern Italy. Gianni Iorio is on of the great masters of the bandoneon and he found the perfect partner in Pasquale Stafano, both from a small town in the Gargano region of Italy.
The bandoneon is closely associated with Argentinian tango and the respect this Duo pays to the masters of this form is no coincidence. In the early years of the last century there was a large emigration to Argentina and Uruguay by the people of Apulia trying to escape from the economic hardships of their country. This established a cultural relationship between Southern Italy and South America valid until today. For instance Astor Piazzola's grandfather hails from Trani.
