Description
Leading folk duo Nancy Kerr and James Fagan (BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards winners – Horizon Award, 2003 and Best Duo Award, 2003) join forces with multi-instrumentalist and composer Robert Harbron (Dr Faustus, English Acoustic Collective) in a new super-trio. Rob joined Nancy and James on their previous Fellside album (Strands of Gold, FECD199) for a few tracks resulting in comments such as "The three of them create a varied and subtle palette of musical colours." (English Dance & Song). It was such a good working relationship with exciting musical rapport that the decision was made to make the trio a reality to work alongside Nancy & James's duo work and Rob's many other commitments. The groundwork was done; festivals and other work are in place and an album recorded.
The resulting dynamic album places fresh takes on traditional material alongside powerful new writing. Truly greater than the sum of its parts, this release shows these three great musicians steaming along new tracks.
