Description
Drummer Eric Harland's playing has made a powerful contribution to the working bands of luminaries such as McCoy Tyner, Dave Holland and Charles Lloyd, all of whom he's recorded with. In addition he's featured on CDs by Terence Blanchard, Ravi Coltrane, Greg Osby and The S.F Jazz Collective. His status has been confirmed by his winning the Downbeat Critics Poll in 2008 and 2009 in the "Rising Star" category for drums.
Harland's first recording for Space Time Records is also the first under his own name and is an exhilarating live outing set down in Paris in October 2008 at the Sunside Club. He's in the company of four spirited young musicians who are already making waves on today's jazz scene - guitarist Julian Lage, pianist Taylor Eigsti, saxophonist Walter Smith III and bassist Harish Raghavan.
