Description
Making his first appearance as leader on Losen Records, Swedish drummer Christian Jormin is the brother of ECM bassist Anders Jormin, who as well as a string of albums under his own name for the label, is also featured on albums by stable mates Bobo Stenson, Tomasz Stanko, Charles Lloyd and Don Cherry.
Of particular relevance to Christian though, he's probably best know for his playing on Mats Gustafsson's tribute album to Ornette Colman, 'Opus Apus', which also featured his brother Anders Jormin.
"This record consists of my own compositions, most of them newly written specifically for the trio. The music was recorded during two days at the inspirational venue of Concert Hall Sjostromsalen at Artisten in Gothenburg, Sweden. After playing together for many years in various constellations with bass player Magnus Bergstrom, we met drummer Adam Ross and the trio was formed." Christian Jormin
Personnel: Christian Jormin (piano), Magnus Bergstrom (double bass), Adam Ross (drums)
