New album from Seth Lakeman's Australian touring mate, troubadour Carus Thompson - recorded between studios in the UK, Germany & Australia

Originally making his name as part of explosion of the Australian Roots movement alongside good friends The John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Xavier Rudd and Pete Murray, Thompson's last album "Creature Of Habit" showed his evolution from "just a root's act" into a first class songwriter who's songs and stories connect with any audience, whether it a be a quiet folk club or a rocking bar. As well as his Aussie mates he's toured with Jack Johnson, Dave Mathews and Damien Rice, however in the UK it was his two tours opening for contemporary folk star SETH LAKEMAN that really put him on the map. Carus launches his new album CARAVAN in the UK to coincide with another tour support with Seth this December when they'll play Exeter, Bilston, Brighton, Southampton, Holmfirth, Frome & Falmouth. Seth also played on the new record. CARAVAN was recorded over the last year in studios in England, Germany and Australia - a reflection of Thompson's last year spent on the road taking his music to the people, as you have to do as an independent artist without the backing of a major label. However Thompson prefers to build his audience this way, organically and through word of mouth as it makes for something much more special and in Europe this approach has really paid off with sold shows from Berlin to Zurich. "Caravan" is mixed by Nashville's in-demand Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Bob Evans, Mathew Sweet) and we hope that with it's release it continues to build the UK reputation of this talented troubadour.
