  • Description

Intimate is exactly what its title promises: a quiet, close-up musical conversation shaped by subtlety, warmth, and emotional honesty - vocalist and trumpeter Andrea Motis reveals her most delicate and refined side, placing her voice at the centre while weaving in understated trumpet lines within an intimate acoustic setting.

Recorded between Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, and Montoliu de Segarra, and mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios in London, Intimate unfolds through elegant dialogues between voice, trumpet, guitar, and, on selected tracks, the lyrical cello of Jaques Morelenbaum. The repertoire moves effortlessly across languages and traditions, embracing jazz standards, folk songs, bossa nova, and French chanson, with reinterpretations of works by Amy Winehouse, Chico Buarque, Bill Withers, and Georges Brassens, alongside original compositions.

The album will be released on 180g vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve and CD digipak editions (the CD contains 2 bonus tracks) with both formats carefully crafted to reflect the album's warm, timeless character.

"The kind of pearly, barely exhaled sound, paced with canny improvisational turns, from which jazz celebs are made." - John Fordham, The Guardian
