The album is part of the project presenting Karol Szymanowski's complete songs. The CD includes songs for mezzo- -soprano/soprano and piano from various cycles and periods of the composer's oeuvre. The miniatures he created throughout his entire career reflect his colourful life, abounding in various inspirations. The drama of Kasprowicz's poetry, the mysticism of Micinski's reflections, erotic fascinations and symbolism included in German culture, Oriental fairy tales, discreet humour of Polish folklore, simple folk religiosity, Joyce's intimate emotions and playful children's stories - Szymanowski managed to express all of the above through his music while remaining faithful to his individual style. The otherness, which was a nuisance during his life, also left its mark on his means of musical expression. The female artists who expertly interpret Szymanowski's songs on this album are fully aware of his original musical language. By using it freely, they confirm their class and charisma specific to the regulars of the most prestigious world stages.
