  • Description

The album is the third instalment in a series presenting Polish music for wind quintet. The album includes works inspired by early music and Lithuanian folklore. These are light compositions - delicate, melodious motifs intertwine with elements of pastiche and burlesque but also with the elegance of old dances. The artists include both authors of many chamber works and symphonists. However, a quintet composed of woodwind instruments is an inspiring medium to all of them, allowing for musical expression full of colours, emotions and charm typical of this ensemble. The tonal and even archaic harmonies as well as the gentle sound of the perfectly matched instruments are deeply soothing. Undoubtedly, this is also thanks to the Cracow Golden Quintet. The musicians present excellent consistency of sound and articulation, lightness and virtuosity, thanks to which the listener will appreciate all the qualities of the presented works.
