Founded in London in 1968 by singer Phil Mogg, bassist Pete Way, guitarist Mick Bolton and Andy Parker on drums, UFO are considered one of the best classic rock acts to date, and a key influence on many of the 1980s and 1990s hard rock and heavy metal bands. The group have undergone many line-up changes with singer Phil Mogg as the sole constant until April 2024, and sold over 20 million albums worldwide, achieving their biggest success between 1973 and 1978 with young guitar wizard Michael Schenker, and world hits such as 'Doctor Doctor,' 'Rock Bottom' and 'Only You Can Rock Me.'
UFO LIVE offers a glimpse into some of UFO's mesmerising live performances in the group's early career; with excerpts from their TV appearances at Germany's legendary Beat Club on Dec 31st, 1970; France's Rock En Stock Festival of October 1972, to the band's show at the world famous Funkausstellung in Berlin in September 1973 (broadcasted at Music Today on October 13th, 1973), and an energetic performance at the Roundhouse in London on Dec 18th, 1975, broadcasted by French TV's Juke Box on Aug 12th, 1976.
Includes the iconic live version of the German Top 30 hit song 'Boogie For George' from UFO's first album UFO 1; the band's fan-favourite heavy version of the Eddie Cochran classic 'C'mon Everybody,' and 'Prince Kajuku' from their UFO 2: Flying album, which reached #26 in the German charts in 1971, featuring guitarist Michael Schenker's very first TV-appearance with UFO at the Funkausstellung Berlin 1973.
