Description
The Man of Lists is a unique collaboration between Welsh lo-fi maestro Pulco and a variety of other musicians – spoken word set to music and ambient sound.
Making home recordings on cheap tape players and 4–Tracks since his youth, Ash Cooke aka Pulco has a love of all things lo-fi.
Ash initially made his mark in Welsh group Derrero releasing 3 critically acclaimed albums and touring with the likes of Super Furry Animals, Catatonia, Sebadoh and Granddaddy as well as collaborating on the film 'Beautiful Mistake' with John Cale. The band also recorded 3 sessions for the legendary John Peel.
Following up on his critically acclaimed most recent album Small Thoughts, The Man of Lists is a collaboration with a variety of musicians and friends - the words and poetry of Pulco set to music and/or ambient sound. It's a brave and experimental album that despite its huge variety maintains a coherence throughout.
"He's perfected the art of lo-fi indie and the results are always warm and human and charming. Now, he's taken that form to the next level." - A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed
