He also supplements, completes and orchestrates missing parts of the score not only on the basis of his many years of professional experience as a conductor but also because his recording of the complete cycle of all eleven symphonies (often in unfamiliar versions including William Carragan’s completion of the Ninth) has shown him how to integrate Bruckner’s compositional techniques and stylistic elements into his reconstructive approach, so that even passages lacking a coherent original version are presented in a distinctively Brucknerian style while additions are not perceived as alien features, resulting in a truly performable version of the final movement of the Ninth.
