Description
Take a trip back to the golden age of American folk, roots, and rock with Kingfish in this superb live radio broadcast, performed at Calderone Concert Hall, Hempstead, New York, on March 27th 1976, and originally transmitted on WLIR-FM.
Featuring the irresistible combination of Bob Weir ( Grateful Dead) on guitar and vocals, Matthew Kelly on guitar, harmonica and vocals, Dave Torbert on bass and vocals, and Chris Herold on drums and percussion, this is Kingfish at their loose, lively and groove-filled best.
Born from the vibrant San Francisco music scene, Kingfish blended rock 'n' roll, blues, country and traditional Americana into a sound that was unmistakably their own. This release captures the atmosphere and spontaneity of a Kingfish performance in full flight -- from infectious grooves and bluesy guitar work to spirited vocals and freewheeling musicianship. Join the band as they stretch out, swap musical ideas and simply enjoy the ride.
