Description
Elemental Music proudly presents a previously unreleased live recording from one of the most inspired trios of the 1980s. Captured at the legendary Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, California, on May 11, 1987, this concert finds French pianist Michel Petrucciani at the peak of his artistry - radiant, daring, and emotionally charged.
Joined by two masters of their respective instruments, Dave Holland (bass) and Eliot Zigmund (drums), Petrucciani delivers an electrifying set filled with interplay, lyricism, and swing. The recording showcases his brilliance as both improviser and composer, offering a front-row seat to a rare live performance that remained unheard for nearly four decades.
Now meticulously restored and mastered from the original tapes, Kuumbwa reveals the full intensity and intimacy of that evening - the energy of a small club, the purity of Petrucciani's touch, and the spark of spontaneous creation.
A world premiere release of previously unissued recordings issued as a 2LP set on 180-gram vinyl presented in deluxe packaging with extensive liner notes and rare photos. LP mastering by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab, transferred from the original analog tapes.
