MAIAH WYNNE'S NEW STUDIO ALBUM 'INTO THE WAVES' JOINS THE ACCLAIMED DEBUT 'OUT OF THE DARK' IN A SPECIAL GATEFOLD 2LP EDITION PRESSED ON BLACK VINYL.

'Into The Waves' finds Maiah Wynne exploring the emotional landscape that follows trauma, tracing the uncertain path between fear & hope, vulnerability & resilience. Richly melodic & stylistically unbound, the album reflects the reality that healing is rarely straightforward, embracing moments of turbulence alongside genuine optimism.

Written, self-produced & largely recorded by Wynne during an exceptionally transformative period in her life, 'Into The Waves' was created between her first international tour, a move across the world, returning to education, & building a new life after years of isolation. Many of the recordings were captured on the road in hotel rooms using nothing more than a laptop, with Wynne playing more than a dozen instruments across the album. The project was completed with mixing & additional production from Justin Abel (Noelle Johnson, The Talbott Brothers) before being mastered by Alan Douches (Sufjan Stevens, Motorhead, LCD Soundsystem).

As with her debut, Wynne is joined by an impressive cast of collaborators, including cellist Bethany Joyce, violinist Avelyn Reynolds, guitarist Brooks Berg, drummers Adam Brzycki & Randy Cooke, flugelhorn player Henry Sheppard, & Rush legend Alex Lifeson, whose guest guitar appearance further strengthens the connection between Wynne's solo work & her role as vocalist with Envy of None.

Musically, 'Into The Waves' moves effortlessly between intimate folk-inspired songwriting, expansive alternative rock textures & cinematic arrangements, with each song serving a chapter in the album's overarching narrative.

One of the album's most moving moments comes with "Girl Dinner", a song added late in the recording process after becoming a favourite during live performances. Featuring recordings of audiences singing along on tour, the track captures the sense of connection & shared catharsis that became an important part of the album's story.

A songwriter since the age of seven, Wynne has steadily built an impressive career. She has performed at festivals including Northwest Folklife & Upstream Music Fest, composed & performed "The Ballad Of Lefty Brown" for the closing credits of the acclaimed 2017 film of the same name, won the International Music From The Moon songwriting competition, & was recognised as the first entrant in NPR's 2019 Tiny Desk Contest. More recently, she has found international acclaim as the lead vocalist of Envy of None alongside Alex Lifeson, Andy Curran & Alfio Annibalini, earning widespread praise for the emotional depth & versatility of her performances across the band's two studio albums.

This special 2LP edition pairs 'Into The Waves' with Wynne's acclaimed debut 'Out Of The Dark'--available on vinyl for the first time--bringing together her two full-length solo albums in one beautifully presented collection. Double black vinyl, gatefold packaging.
