Fronted by the deinfatiguable Tony ‘Wild T’ Springer, Wild T & the Spirit have just released their third and perhaps most important CD to date. The CD, entitled ‘Fender Bender’ on German label Jazzhaus Records, gives the people what they want - Guitar! ‘Fender Bender’ is an album for the fans - those fans that already follow Wild T & the Spirit, as well as ones that are about to be captured by Wild T’s highenergy live show and sizzling licks.
‘Fender Bender’ serves a banquet of raw, unabashed rockin’ blues with an all you can hear helping of crisp, crunchy guitar that only Tony ‘Wild T’ Springer can dish up. This live and natural recording feeds all that have hungered for the live show captured to disc. They truly are giving the people what they want in this album that their fans have been waiting for.
‘Fender Bender’ offers the listener access to Wild T & the Spirit in ways never before available. You can hear why Jeff Healey says of Wild T, “I followed him around like he was a Messiah…Tony’s been my idol for years” as Tony Springer’s guitar work will inspire many as Jeff Healey has been. So too can the listener hear why David Bowie calls ‘Wild T’ “An absolute delight”.
Aptly accompanied by Guenther Kapelle on bass, Chris Lesso on drums and backed by some of the band’s best loved beat buddies, ‘Fender Bender’ is a full, well rounded clinic on what blues rock should be and that they are clearly having fun with this recording is obvious. -
