Description
This album is the fourth instalment of the Musical Trace of Krakow series, documenting Polish theatre and film music created by composers associated with Cracow. The aim of the project is to bring the phenomenon of this type of music closer to a wider audience, thus filling a considerable gap in the Polish publishing market.
Zygmunt Konieczny (b. 1937) is a composer of particular merit for Polish film and theatre, associated with the stage of the famous Piwnica pod Baranami, an artist who, like no one else, can play with moods, compose music that "follows a man", invariably related to characters created by film and theatre actors; music that is hard to forget. Konieczny's output stands out not only due to beautiful, moving melodies, but also due to perfectly conveyed moods or features of a given character.
On the album, it was Beata Wojciechowska (vocals), Aleksandra Wagstyl (solo violin), Agnieszka Ignaszewska-Magiera (piano), Leszek "Hefi" Wisniowski (bass flute) and artists of the Beethoven Academy Orchestra conducted by Rafal Jacek Delekta who presented their musical talents.
