Andre Schoch; Stuttgarter Kammerorchester
Description
On his first solo release for the label ES-DUR, Andre Schoch - member of the Berliner Philharmoniker - presents music that is very close to his heart: Accompanied by the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester he plays baroque trumpet concertos by Johann Wilhelm Hertel, Leopold Mozart, Johann Melchior Molter, Johann Michael Haydn and Georg Philipp Telemann.
"Somewhat inauthentically, Schoch plays a pair of piccolo trumpets (one in A; the other in C) – an instrument not developed until the late 19th century. This allows him to tackle the technical challenges (especially in the Haydn) while maintaining a historically informed interpretation." – BBC Music Magazine ****
"I was pleased to make the acquaintance of the Molter, and […] Schoch is unquestionably a good player" – MusicWeb International
