Acclaimed Americana and roots-rock artist Eric Brace has made a name for himself through his band Last Train Home, his duo with fellow singer-songwriter Peter Cooper, his Grammy-nominated children's album "I Love: Tom T. Hall's Songs of Fox Hollow," his folk-opera of the California Gold Rush "Hangtown Dancehall," his East Nashville-based label Red Beet Records, and for his dynamic live shows.
What he's never done 'til now is explore his family's musical past. With "Cartes Postales," Brace sings the songs of his French father, digging deep into the "chansons" canon to create updated versions of tunes by Charles Trenet, Yves Montand, Jean Sablon, Henri Salvador, Georges Ulmer, Django Reinhardt, Sidney Bechet, and many others. His musical partner is the astonishing Rory Hoffman, a Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist, blind from birth, who plays a dozen instruments on the album: guitar, clarinet, accordion, saxophone, piano, harmonica, banjo and more.
