Description
Marzanna Rudnicka is a well-known artist with a versatile range of roles. An undisputed star of, among others, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, where she created many unforgettable roles, she has now decided to face a major challenge. On this album, together with the talented pianist Kamil Wrona, she faces songs by Reynaldo Hahn (1874-1947), an artist known to a few. During his lifetime, he was an important figure of the Parisian Boheme. A Venezuelan by birth, a regular of exclusive Paris salons, a Frenchman by choice. A critic, composer, singer, teacher, and, last but not least, an opera director...Apart from the Chansons grises cycle, the remaining tracks on the album do not constitute a whole. They were subjectively chosen by both artists, who, in their opinion, selected the most beautiful miniatures, most fully showing the composer's talent and versatility. Hahn did not shy away from pastiche and paraphrase, yet his individual style combines Romantic and Impressionistic elements, invariably remaining under the influence of Jules Massenet.
