Ex anima is an album that reveals the many faces of contemporary Polish a cappella choral music - deeply rooted in liturgical and biblical tradition, yet articulated through a modern harmonic and textural language. The programme unfolds as a coherent narrative, moving from a prayer of trust, through Marian and Passion settings, to the joy of the Resurrection, and capturing the spiritual dimension of singing "from within," as the album's title suggests. Performed by the Fermata Chamber Choir under the direction of Ewa Robak, Ex anima stands as a testament to the ensemble's high artistic standards and remarkable interpretive sensitivity. The recording not only offers a cross-section of contemporary Polish sacred composition, but also invites the listener into a deepened, spiritual experience of choral sound.
