Description
160g Iridescent White-Blue; printed insert and obi strip.
For more than two decades, Sacha Mullin has built one of Chicago's most distinctive bodies of work. Social Touch brings his expansive voice, emotionally charged songwriting and unconventional instincts into a more direct and immediate pop setting. Produced by William Parker Wood, the record draws upon pop, jazz, rock and experimental music without being confined to any single genre.
The eight-song LP follows Mullin's 2023 album Casino Wilderness Period. Wood produced, recorded and mixed the album at Superior Street in Chicago; Mullin and Wood arranged it, and Carl Saff mastered it. The single 'Hypocenter' features returning collaborator Emily Bindiger. The CD edition adds 'Let's Cruise!' and 'Tall Ask'; the digital edition adds a William Parker Wood remix of 'Tears Into Platinum.'
Mullin's music has received attention from NPR, EARMILK, The Big Takeover, PROG Magazine and WBEZ's Vocalo. Chicago Reader readers named him Best Pop Artist and Best Music Teacher in 2024. His collaborations and performances include Bobby McFerrin, Cory Wong, Dessa, Sheila E. and Guerilla Toss. Limited to 250 copies on 160g Iridescent White-Blue vinyl.
