Description
King Sans is Jake Steven James (guitar, synths, vocals) and Izabella Rose (drums, vocals), a Chicago gothic noisepunk duo. Sell the Cow is their debut full-length LP. Across eleven tracks, the record turns anti-capitalism, community and survival into tense, economical songs built from distorted guitar, synths, drums and dual vocals.
The album was written and performed by King Sans, mixed and mastered by Paul Bennett, and engineered by Bennett and Nicholas Svoboda. 'Stonefed' was recorded at Electrical Audio and 'Liar!' at The Music Zone. IDIOTEQ hosted a full-album premiere. The release show took place at Cole's Bar in Chicago with mr.phylzzz, Bullheather and the Bloodflowers, and Frozen Charlotte.
First pressing on 160g vinyl at Smashed Plastic Chicago. The black edition is limited to 150 copies and includes an 8 x 10-inch handwritten lyric sheet and black poly-lined inner sleeve. Photography by Madison Rease; album design by King Sans; layout by Tyler Balthaser.
