Description
The album is a poetic exploration of sound, space, and nature.Bilayer - a duo consisting of Hilde Marie Holsen (trumpet, electronics) and Magnus Bugge (synthesizers) - creates music that moves seamlessly between the acoustic and the electronic, the raw and the processed.
OnIllrie, they are joined by renowned violinist Sarah-Jane Summers, who adds depth and complexity to the album's organic sonic landscape. Inspired by natural elements and the beauty of decay, the album's eight tracks are named after old dialect words from Norway's west coast - fromSkogavakse(the tree line in the mountains) to the title trackIllrie(snowstorm). The music is a meditative experience, where every sound is given space to breathe and find its place. This is not music that imposes itself on the listener, but rather one that invites contemplation.
