Description
Broadcaster's long anticipated second album, this time featuring the vocals of folk icon Peggy Seeger, set against Broadcaster's trademark beats and loops.
Broadcaster has never been afraid to break musical boundaries or cross genres, as witnessed by his remarkable debut album 'Primary Transmission', with which he almost scored a BBC Radio full house by getting played on Radios 1,2,3,4 and 6Music.
Second album 'Folksploitation' is both a musical collaboration and a concept. Featuring the unlikely juxtaposition of the vocals of folk icon Peggy Seeger and Broadcaster's dub, hip hop, funk and techno beats, it turns the highly improbable into the possible, the traditional into the experimental and a conundrum into artistry.
Lead single, 'First Time Ever' is a perfect introduction, as Broadcaster works his magic on one of the best-known songs of all time, 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face'. And the twist? The song was written by Ewan MacColl for the 20 year old Peggy herself. Now in her mid-70s, Peggy was delighted to subject herself to the Broadcaster treatment and the results are nothing short of stunning
Also available. RGLAEP01 'Primary Transmission'. RGLAEP02 'England – The Remixes'
